The Role of the IMCA

To consult with carers, professional staff and any other person who may have valuable knowledge or insight as to the individual's needs or known, likely, or historical views and wishes
From the information gathered, produce a written report for the decision maker. This report gives direction as to what needs to be considered to be in the individual's best interest, and the report must be taken into consideration prior to any decision being made
To ensure the principles and working practices set out in the Mental Capacity Act 2005 Code of Practice are being upheld.
